Had one puff about 2 1/2 hours ago.  Vision is blurring, shaking, very dry

mouth and breathing is very laboured.  Going to try and see if my gp is

available, although he is in another town and not sure if I'm able to drive

right now.

I was admitted to hospital in the early hours this morning by ambulance becuase of unexpected flare-up.  Making good recovery and off oxygen already.  GGOD LUCK

Don't use it again if you're getting these reactions:  check the manufacturer's warnings on the leaflet or on the internet and you'll see why

Hello, sorry to hear that you are having a possibly allergic reaction to this medication. I have researched it online, in case your information on your computer may be limited, etc.

Here is the side effects that I found online (copied/pasted here..see below):

Dizziness, nausea, stomach upset, dry mouth, or constipation may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

This drug may make you dizzy or cause blurred vision or other vision changes. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires alertness or clear vision until you are sure you can perform such activities safely. Limit alcoholic beverages.

Infrequently, this medication may cause severe sudden worsening of breathing problems right after use. If you have sudden worsening of breathing, use your quick-relief inhaler and get medical help right away.

It sounds like you have a lot of the side effects, so is important to go to ER possibly. The breathing one is the one that I think is most concerning, since I think this is possibly due to an allergic reaction.

Thanks Brenda.  As I said in a previous post to you, feeling better and

definitely won't be using the atrovent inhaler again.

Did that and also read Brenda62546 posts regarding atrovent.  Won't

be using it again obviously.  You know for quite a few years the docs. had me on Ventolin.  Surprisingly I seemed to tolerate it, however, it

wasn't helping my breathing much.  Turns out it's for asthma, never

been diagnosed with asthma!  Realizing more and more that I need

to be pro-active and research any med. prescribed to me.  Thanks

Terri, thank you for your previous post message, and this message here too!  I am glad to hear that you are feeling better and won't be using the Atrovent inhaler again. When I was first hospitalized (2013), the nurse brought me Atrovent to my hospital room, and added it to my Bi-Pap (used for my respiratory failure),and it instantly flushed straight down into my lungs, and made my heart beat faster, and rapid breathing with hard laboured and Shortness of Breath. It felt like it was going to kill me, and it took about one hour for me to go back to normal again. What a way to find out that it did not work for me either...lol! I never forgot the name, and won't ever use it.

I am not sure if I like Advair either, because the hospital staff told me that lots of patient's could not use it for long, due to mouth sores and thrush on their tongues developing.
