Morning Maureen,
I'm not sure how to work my laptop to enable Private Messaging.
I reply to people on the Forum if they send privately to me.
I don't mind replying on here and sometimes what we write may
be picked up by other women that are in the same position, so
maybe helpful to them too.
Nothing I type is that private that I don't want people to read.
Shame you can't work out face book, we could certainly speak
privately on there.
I don't think for one moment that the blood test is going to show
anything up regarding my hair, I think you are spot on when you
mentioned menopause and I think it's that absolutely.
I've been chatting with Linda from China on the Forum, she too
has autoimmune disease, which of course you've said can
potentially cause hair loss. I haven't got bald patches, thank
goodness, just badly thinning. When it gets bad that I can no
longer cope with it, there is a lady in London who mkaes
bespoke wigs, I will pay her a visit. However, it will cost at
least £2,000, which is a lot for vanity ha ha !!
I'll have to check out what you researched about different
hormone levels that cause hair loss. The main problem
that I'm aware of it thyroid problems and iron deficiency.
I'm sure these won't show in being abnormal in my blood
test. I must keep an eye on my Cholesterol though, as
my HDL is too low, so will have to improve that, but LDL
is low, so that's a bonus.
All these health issues are quite complicated and years
ago when younger didn't worry, but as we age it's good
to make sure our Blood Pressure, Glucose levels and
Cholesterol are all working fine. I must get my bot. into
gear when the summer arrives and start walking again,
another good way to keep cholesterol in check....hate
exercise !! However, if we don't look after ourselves,
no one else will. Having suffered the Bacterial Meningits
through the blessed Eustachian Tube Dysfunction, I never
want to experience that ever again.
I have a friend who is a qualified Nutritionist, so I get so
much information from her regarding the best types of
foods to eat and what supplements I should be taking for
my age. Also what supplements compliment each other,
or don't. I've just found out from her that if I take Vit D3,
I should also be taking Vit K2 and along side that Magnesium,
but the magnesium has to have certain things in it and not
others....I told you it was complicated !! It's whether we can
all be bothered to research problems that we suffer and do
something about it.
My lovely daughter has just bought me Himalayan Salt Lamp.
Supposed to help with allergies, anxiety etc etc. I'll try anything
that's helps with my issues. I've in the past paid a lot of money
on machines that supposed to eradicate dust and pollen....can't
notice any difference. I've also had Accupunture, no change.
I guess ETD is something I've just got to learn to live with and
after all the years I've suffered you'd think I have, but I haven't,
it's one of the most miserable things to suffer from. I'm so
thankful I have such a good ENT consultant that's looked after
me so well ever since the illness. I just wish I didn't have to
take steroid nasal drops for the rest of my life to help eleviate
the misery. All settled back down again now, but had a nasty
episode over the weekend. Because I'm trying to only use the
Nasules when ears blocked, when they do, they're bad. I should
keep on top of it and maybe use them every 3 days instead of 6.
Also trying not to take the Cetrizine antihistamine every day. They
make me sleepy too, but because I take mine late afternoon I
usually get a very good nights sleep....something else we suffer
as we age, insomnia !! I shouldn't moan, as there are so many
people out there so much worse off than myself.
Take care Maureen and so happy you've messaged me again.
I'll let you know my blood test results when I get them, but not
holding me breath that it will show anything up that may help
me.
Kindest of regards
Anne
Can't re-read what I've typed, too long, so hope I haven't made any mistakes.
