I had my first THR 3 weeks and 3 days ago. I will also need my other hip doing at some point. This is due to AVN. I’ve just been told this morning that I also have AVN in both my shoulders. I was just wondering whether anyone else here has had their THR due to AVN and whether they’ve also had it in their shoulders. Just looking for anyone with a similar experience. Thank you.
My THR was done in September due to AVN and now my other hip is showing signs of AVN. So far it hasn't reached my shoulders. But my right knee is acting up as well.
It’s a bloody nuisance isn’t it?! That’s putting it politely. I just feel so down. So far I’m recovering beautifully from my hip surgery and I just want to enjoy that. My other hip currently doesn’t hurt so I thought I’d have a bit of respite. I thought my shoulders were frozen but no 😢 I’m sorry that you’re going through this too. I have the feeling that AVN is not fully understood by the medical profession. Not sure what your take is on that? Thank you for replying. It’s nice to know I’m not alone.

It’s avascular necrosis. Basically the bone dies due to a lack of blood flow.
