Would anyone wear a shirt that said save the cooters I'm getting really depressed at the thought that no one knows about it and their is nothing I can do so I heard of a web site that you can create a shirt and most of the proceeds can go to a charity so of coarse it would go to Dr Goldstein but I wanted to put something that would grab people's attention but I don't know if it is to offensive I would also put info on LS on it it would just be an eye catcher
Ha. I don't think it's offensive, think it's funny but I wouldn't wear it sorry. I haven't told anyone I have it except a few close friends and family. Would maybe wear something that's more hidden but still funny
It is frustrating that pekoe don't know about it though. Even some Gps I've seen nod when I tell them but I can tell have no idea
I know I'm still looking for a doctor who has a clue mine has made it worse and he didn't want me using steroid for more than three months I've been finding my care info on this page and Dr Goldstein thank God for this site even though I wish I had one with people closer to me I really love the info on her but thanks for your input I'm also trying to figure out how to get a ribbon I'll post if I figure it out
Hi Athena - I agree we need to do something. Check out my discussion Raising Awareness of LS. You might like to throw in some suggestions
I was thinking that "ditch the itch" might be more catchy than save the cooters
Haha that's a good one maybe I can do a few different because most important us that they sell and I know my husband and his friends would buy it just because it says cooter in it but I would like Ditch the itch thanks for the input
Hi Athena. What are/is cooters?
Wilma.
Slang for vagina
Yes i like your idea. Not sure us Ausies would understand the meaning though. Its not a word i have heard before.
Rather than ditch the itch it could be Itch in the ditch. Or some thing else but i think the tee shirt could help. Maybe incorporate the two ideas and use art on the shirt front and an explanation on the back.
Love any idea that could potentially help us all.
Wilma.
I like tee shirt idea but wouldn't be too keen wearing something that's referring to a vaginal itch. LS is so much more than that.
I do agree it is way way more then that but ever since I read it I haven't been able to get it out of my mind witch is a good thing
What about a badge that could be worn cos would need many tee shirts.
Hi I screen shot the slides on Dr G's webinar and printed them off to take to my Gp's surgery- At first i gave them to one of the nurses who returned them to me- i DON'T think she DID circulate them around the nursing or medical staff- so i have given the print outs to one of the doctors and suggested they discuss setting up a support group at a practice meeting- i would be willing to facilitate i said - I was told they do have several women in the practice (it is a rural practice) and one of thir receptionists whispered to me that she too has the condition- So if we all Have a Go at informing the general public we MAY get the message out
I also spoke to pharmacists about not selling canesten creams for thrush without checking the frequency of the "thrush " and advising the customer to go to their medic to be SURE it IS thrush and NOT LS, .
Great work, I spoke to my dermatologist about the possibility of posters. She thinks this is a good idea and will look into it.
