Back at square one

I was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease two and a half years ago I was bescriped Serc 16 mg 3 times a day, after about a year I had 8 months of no symptoms, b for the last 3months I have had Vertigo attacks at least twice a week with serviere vomiting headaches, my scalp feels tender to touch and the headache are at the bottom of the scull, also sever Neck pain, the Doctor now put me on cinnarizine15mg and I'm still taken Serc has anyone else got these symptoms and or what else is there I can do I'm getting to the point where I'm at my wits end

Hi I'm a similar story but I dont get the headaches. Youtube has got a massage fir menieres clip I saw it once which will help with the neck ache. I think its because we tense up so bad with all the attacks. Try to get in a comfortable position during an attack and shut your eyes. Cinnarizine you can also get over the counter called Stugeron. They do help lessen the severity I think. Are you affected my noise at all? Im so sound sensitive and after a series of loud conversations around me, mobile phone conversations, a small social gathering and a shoe shop full of children getting shoes a spin ensued. I find I just cringe at noises even the door shutting frequently at work I know Im for it later... coincidentally a friend who has severe migraines is very sound sensitive. Im on 32mg betahistine 3 times a day, water tablet daily, had grommet in july +steroid and ive still had 5 spins since, making it 31 in total this year. Im hoping for a reprieve soon. ENT end sep to discuss whats next..

Hi I am only noise sensitive when I have an attack, but never before did I have the scalp sensitivity, and the neck pain is there all the time, if I massage or rub my neck I start feeling quezzi on the verge of getting dizzy and being sick, I never had any official tests done either and the gp is now not sure if it is Menieres, the water tablets, do u get them over the counter?and how often do u take them? I'm trying anything at the moment just to keep things managable

Hi tina i get severe headaches exactly where you describe & neck pain, my shoulders also kind of shrug forwards, i was told be a senior audiologist when having ENG test that this is caused by holding your head in a funny position to try and compensate for the dizziness. She told me that she felt vestibular rehabilitation would help with this problem and wrote to my ENT consultant to request this. I have just received an appointment this morning for the 18th september. Maybe this would help you. Abby

Forgot to also say that there is a video on You Tube that shows you how to complete the exercises. Type in vestibular rehabilitation exercises.

Hi Tina  I can realate to being at witts end.   I've been in remission for 9 yrs., and just started having symptons for the past to weels.  Had 2 bad attacks, one lasting upto 18 hrs, other are daily but I can still function.   Just afraid to go anywhere.   I can sometime tell by the noise and pressure in my ear when an attack will occur, so I immediately take promethazine 25mg, and dizziness and attacks aren't as sever and they don't last that long.  I also take over the counter sudafed.   Feel better soon

Hopefully yr gp has referred you for further tests to rule out menieres or not. Water tablet is prescribed, said to reduce salts in the blood. If massage no good, heat wrap on neck to relieve the pain maybe?

I am so pleased to read that others are suffering like me. My ENT has referred me to another specialist but the appt came through for han 2015!!! I need help now. I am sooo noise sensitive and my hearing has really deteriorated. I already wear 2 hearing aids. I cannot go to work......any advice is welcoming.

I think the best think you can do is call them and see if there is a cancellation to call you, i am now waiting to see an ENT and also have an appointment for an MRI but thats only becouse there now thinking it could be something else, i do not have the usall Menieres Symptoms,  i get numbnes on the face bit like after having a injection from the dentist the strongest headache i have ever had and continued neck pain i have no hearing loss and tinitus only sometimes,  and i dont really get the fullness feeling, so god knows whats wrong with me, but u need to keep on at them to be seen early
