Had a THR on left hip last August all appeared to be well until last week when I got up last Wednesday with a severe back ache which I have still got so back on the medication big time has anybody else experienced back pain?.
Hi,
sorry to hear of UR back pain I can sympathize with u it's very painful.
however what did the doc find was the problem with UR back?
I have both both hips replaced and several issues with my back.. Mainly arthritis buldging disc, years of one thing after another.
i go to PSIO to build up muscles on my back and core muscles. Muscles are what hold our skeletons up. Take it slow & ask UR dr for PSIO therapy.
I had my THR last June and am just getting over a bad back. I think for me it has been sacro iliac strain brought about by train travel and restrictive movement on one day. I have since tried to mobilise more and have now stopped my pain relief. It was a shock at first as I thought something was wrong with my new hip, but time has healed it. It is 2 weeks today since that fateful journey and im almost back to normal.
If in doubt see your GP.
Hi there, i also had my left hip done end of july last year, i hurt my back a few weeks ago, dont know how, but it really affected my hip, i think i got up too quick and it just went, but both back and hip was painfull for a couple of weeks, i was reallt having trouble standing up straight, its improved now, but at the time i wasnt very happy, so i shouldnt worry too much, unless it drags on for too long, then go to doc,s, good luck, chris
Hi
Yes I've ad both hips done and have back pain but have been told |I have arthritis in my spine.
Can you go back to the consultant again and see what he says.....X Ray or MRI to check it

Maybe your back pain isn't connected to ur THR. Could have arthritic problems but kidney stones, gall bladder problems etc can cause severe back pain. If I were u ii would see ur family doctor --I am from US so may call them different but the doc you see for general health issues, make sure there isn't an internal issue causing pain.
hope to hear ur better soon
My internist says all of my back problems...arthritis, bulging disks, bone spurs ARE DUE TO THE ORTHO HUGE mistakes while doing 2 hip replacements. It fell out 2 times within 10 days. He didn't care what size ball and joint he put in EITHER TIME! Now I have 2 hospital bills, 3 ER ambulance Rides to the hospital and the 2 week stay in the Rehab place, to.learn how to walk again.
By the way, the 2 operations were done on the same hip, due to his non caring attitude while putting in ball and stems in each time. Now my good leg is 1.5" shorter than the one that needed repl! I cannot even sue this lackadaisical idiot!
All of things that are wrong with my back are caused by the rotten job this Dr. Did. Dr E. Handal.
You may want to be aware that publicly naming a doctor and saying his negligence caused all your problems might be actionable. Of course that would b in the U.S. where everybody sues at the slightest provocation.
Just a thought---
