I am 15 days post op and my back/spine burns and hurts when I lay on it. I know it is from the epidural that I was given for surgery. My mom says it is bruised in that area. Have anyone else experience this?

I had terrible back/spine pain for about 3 weeks. I'm now 5 weeks post op and still in pain, but not as bad. I also had terrible butt pain lol. Your mum's right after epidural and surgery you will be in pain for a good while

Thank you I feel better that I am not the only one! And yes the butt pain I'm going to have a super flat pancake butt lol

sorry to hear this - maybe Arnica can help with the burning and bruising sensation?

Be gentle with your self , okay ?

It is also possible that you may be suffering from a form of bed-sores. In my case, I developed some eczema (on the 'tail&#39 which was resolved with creams.

Heat rash on back from incessant back-sleeping, spinal block (epidural), and yes, recently - lower back pain.  Check!  I cheated with a little leftover hydrocortisone for the back rash; it was insanely itchy (and then so sore, of course) - am almost healed, I believe, and will switch to something much less chemical-y (e.g. aloe, calendula). I didn't have any pain or bruising after spinal block, although I was frozen for four days instead of a few hours. Is that a side effect?  : )  Crazy. And I presume my lower back pain is from walking so torqued but I had an amazing PT app't yesterday and am hopeful that my new exercises will alleviate. Can't under-estimate the value of a really, really good PT, that's for sure. Onwards and upwards!

I didn't have back pain, but it did get very itchy where the spinal blocks were.  Also had tailbone pain and heels from pressure sores.  I have to sleep on top of my duvet with a pillow to keep my heels from touching and the extra comfort of the duvet means the tailbone pain went as well.  I just cover up with a blanket.  Still end up with most of the quilt myside lol
