Back pain

coming up to 10 weeks post op of left hip replacement (1st right hip done 2012) im having back pain upper lumber region both sides,i feel it could be my walking better i had a really bad limp before op anybody else had this ?? ive not had physio yet as carnt get an appotment till mid april

Cazy,

I had the worst limp ever prior to hip op, I made penguins look liked they walked straight. :joy::joy::joy::rofl: Do you walk heel to toe, that really does help and I would recommend going to a pilates class. I had lower back pain prior to restarting pilates, I was bent over for a few steps until I was able to straighten up within a couple of weeks I noticed my back had recovered and I wad no longer bent over when rising from sitting. I never had physio nor was I offered it, just left to get on with my recovery myself.

I would strongly advise you to see a good chiropractor as it is more than likely that your back is out of true.

When I did this recently it was found that I had a leg length difference of two inches. WOW! this was due to my pelvis being. out of true. My chiropractor straightened me out…problem solved.
cheers Richard

I should have said that I had had a hip revision of my twenty year old hip. Cheers, Richard

hi
I went back to my private osteopath that I saw pre op (he asked me to have the initial xray which proved to arthritis), so after half hour session of working lower back and hip area, I walked properly until this morning. Wish I could afford every week/day but I am still doing exercises and will go back next month. So it may help you to have any extra work on your back/hip, hope it helps you.
