Back to normal

Last week was another milestone as I saw the consultant who was happy with me and said 'see you in 6 months'. Then saw the physio who said 'I'm sign into you off early'. Then I went to work for a day with an hours drive at either end and normal walking around the building. I spent most of my week helping out at the gliding club we belong to and most people didn't even realise that I'd had a hip op. So, now I'm back to normal and work this week involves a 3.5 hour drive to Cardiff for one day of work and then a long and tired drive home.

What im now finding is that I'm busy getting on with life and doing everything normally but everything still feels a teensy bit more exhausting. So, I wasn't planning on returning to my work until September but as the work is there, and I'm feeling almost back to normal I'm easing my way back in.

well one, i have just retired, hopefully sometime in the autumn i am due to have the hip done,

Warm hugs right back atcha Renee!  Must say I'm very tired from trying to be normal but nothing really hurts.  We've even decided to postpone and keep a watch on number 2 hip.

Hope you are are noticing improvements and settling into your lovely new home.

Xx

Good luck with everything Laura

I am finding that I have to pace myself work wise - work mainly from home with some travelling so have been doing some home based work since not long after I got out of hospital.

Early days for most of us still- plenty of recovery for the body still to do.

kind wishes Linda xx

UP VOTE!

that was the same with me, about 95% back to normal at 6 weeks with being just a wee bit more tired. Really try to get enough sleep. I had my THR at age 60, was a coach potato for about 2 years prior do to tendonosis of my IT BAND. The IT Band is a thick tendon that run on the side of your leg from your hip to your knee. It was debilitating. However by some miracle the THR fixed that tendon by about 98%. I had it in both legs but the one on the right was the worst, that was the side I had my THR. In fact the tendonosis was worse than the bad hip.
