Back to the Drs again today ☹️ Any advice on medication?

Went back to the Drs again this morning. I was awake mostly all night last night, brain constantly ticking over and over.

The Dr is very certain it is Health Anxiety, and have recommended Setraline medication ( I think that’s how you spell it).

He told me to do some research and to discuss it with the Dr. Next Tuesday when I go back to check blood results again & to check if any chances to the swollen tonsil/ gland whatever it is.

I’m really reluctant on taking medications due to Gilbert Syndrome & scared of the side effects & don’t want to rely on them. But I also don’t want to feel like this.

Any advice regarding this medication?

I’m getting worried also my face feels really waxy? I haven’t used any moisturiser or anything on my face today. What could this be? I dearnt google it as it’s always bad.

I kinda want to believe it’s anxiety but something telling me it’s not! Why! I literally broke down at the Drs. Like never before as I’m desperate to feel normal again like all I bet all of you do too.

I’m so tired of feeling like this☹️.

Please any advice would be most welcome. Xx

Anti depressants barely work but I’ve found some improvement on Lexapro. Best thing to do is find natural ways to feel better. Good luck!

Why are you hesitant on taking medications due to gilberts syndrome?

Just from your post it sounds very irrational, my very young child has Gilberts and has been diagnosed for years ... It will never impact her health, and if your GP has told you otherwise you need to research more and get a new GP!....  have you considered pyschology input to help deal with the anxiety?

Hi Kahla, I’m hesitant because of the research that I have read about Gilbert’s. What I’ve read is to avoid medications, spices, herbs, processed foods & other things as it makes the liver work harder & apparently  with Gilbert’s your Liver is under enough stress as it is.

The Drs. Have never really explained fully about it. I always get the impression it’s absolutely nothing to worry about they don’t say much. So that’s why I’ve done a little research myself. Say I don’t know what’s right & what’s wrong. ??

Hi Shane, Glad to hear there making a slight improvement for you.I’ve read mixed reviews but understand everyone’s different. Im trying really hard to do with out, but don’t seem to be getting anywhere 🙁 I’ve got a week to decide, so probably see how things go.

My Gp hasn’t really said anything about Gilbert’s apart from nothing to worry about. Which I didn’t at first back in August last year, when a nurse said tha I might have Gilbert’s due to my Bilirubin fluctuates. I was on Istrotretion for my acne so had blood tests every couple of months. Even then not much was mentioned about it, so at that time in my life I didn’t worry or really gave it a seconds thought. But since having this Health Anxiety, since April & Bilirubin levels just keep creeping up & up I now worry about it & about my liver & pancreas. Wish I didn’t but I do. I think about the all the times I’ve been out on the Razz & worry about all of that & the foods I’ve eaten etc.... So yes that’s my state of mind at the mo. ☹️

My last reading was 4.7 highest it’s been. Hoping it goes down. Had a blood test yesterday but won’t find out until next Tuesday. I don’t understand about the levels etc....

Regarding seeing a therapist, I’m waiting for a telephone appointment again on Tuesday to see where we go from there.

I take it you have some knowledge regarding Gilbert’s with your child having it? Any advice would be much appreciated.
