Well ladies i thought I would be lying on the sofa forever.......I can't believe it's 12 weeks since my op.... I look back at those early weeks and remember how I thought I would never get back to any sense of normality and here I am planning on going back to work next week.....I have got quite a robust return to work programme but I'm stilll very nervous......I've spent so long focussing on my recovery......talking about bowels, bladder habits and all the aches and pains associated with such major surgery!!!!.....I'm not sure I feel a 100% fit but I'm also sure I don't think I will do for a while, so best get back into it before my brain turns to mush!!...... Fingers crossed for me girls xxx
I know how you feel I'm ten weeks post op and went back to work yesterday I'm a courier I wasn't looking forward to going back and was knackered by 8.30 last night I had 95 parcels to deliver but thankfully today was only 55 hope you enjoy going back to work just don't do to much
All the best to you for your return to work. I was fortunate to have a vaginal procedure and I came back to work after 6 weeks. I only work 3 days a week so that has been a blessing but I have been fine and I'm sure you will be as well. Just don't be tempted to do too much - it's so easy to forget that you still need to be careful about lifting etc.
Am 14 weeks post op and I returned to work at 7 weeks . It's been a roller coaster ! Iv not managed a full week yet been so so tired and very low , started HRT but so tired and fed up , I'd thought all that would have gone by now . Is it just me ? Xxx
Wow doesn't time go fast! It is great you are going back to work and getting your life on track but remember to ease yourself in gently, it might be quite a shock for your poor body for the first few days.
You will cope brilliantly don't worry, just do not be afraid to say if you cannot do something, or lift, carry etc rather than put any strain on your repair. Go slowly and don't rush to volunteer, I know it is very hard to ask for help, but usually people are only too willing to help as long as you say what it is you need them to do for you.
Fortunately I have a very good boss, I'm actually a manager in the NHS so they have to cut me a bit of slack!!!..... I'm doing 3 mornings next week then building my hours and days up over 4 weeks.....the problem will be if there are issues to manage I will find it hard to walk away!!!
