back to work for me on Monday. Phased return agreed by GP and my boss, with me suggesting the days I work for the first 3 weeks. I asked for and will get more physio as I cannot get rid of my limp.

Thanks, I shall need it. Still working in the hospital lab, with 3 qualified doctors in the department, I should be OK. Colleagues were very helpful before op so am hoping they will be as kind on my return.

I work from choice, I retired and then went back part time. Still find the science fascinating and there is always something new to deal with in microbiology. I did not however volunteer to work in a lab in Sierra Leonne like some colleagues.
