Hi I am on 20 mg on Citalopram per day. At the moment I have an awful backache so i am taking paracetamol every 4 hours. The chemist said I can take ibuprofen for a few days at no risk. I looked on google and it’s not recommended so I am confused.
Any experience of being in need of anti inflammatories?

as long as you are not a senior Citizen or have stomach issues is ok take for a few days.

hi Silvia/you can take paracetamol and ibuprofen at the same time ,because they have different ingredients in them .Because one of them is an anti-inflammatory and that is ibuprofen
Many years ago when I had Pleurisy (which lasted about 4 months) I took Paracetemol every 4 hours aling with Ibuprofen too, but had to stagger them both ie every 2 hours I took either one so both were taken every 4 hours (if that makes sense).
The Chemist / Pharmacist is more qualified than Google.

Lois is right, as long as there is no pre-existing condition that would cause issues with bleeding and things like that ibuprofen should not hurt to take as long as its not consistant for long periods. My doctor gave me the go ahead because I have such horrible cramping and migranes during my monthly. If your doctor is familiar with any conditions you have and gave you the go ahead then I’m sure it’s safe. They just have to list that on google because if you have one of those pre-existing conditions it could possibly cause the things they list on there.
