I would seek medical advice as soon as possible , if you live in the UK , call the 111 number which is free
Thanks for your reply the first night it happened i rang 111 they sent an ambulance the paramedic came and checked me and he said i suffered a panic attack i went to see my doctor 8 oclock that morning and he gave me diazapan which only makes me feel sleepy so i dont know what to do now
Are you on anti depressants ? Im on citalopram 20mg and its helping a little , if your not on any , maybe ask the doctor
Anti anxiety*
I dont need anti depressants i dont feel any stress or worry just hate the feeling of my rhroat tightening up and even thought i can breath east i feel breathless it happens at nite alot when i get in bed
Maybe some anti anxiety stuff ? Or a trip to a and e wouldnt be a bad idea either , get assesed by a doctor there and maybe give you a form of treatment
Lee,i started 20 years ago with these symptoms, completely out of the blue, tablets have not made a blind bit of difference,i've seen councillers which was a complete waste of time, not saying either wont help you mate but the best therapy is to tackle everything head on and just remind yourself that these feelings are really happening for no apparent reason, you know theres nothing wrong in your life so try not to let it get top side of you.If you do you will start worrying about things that dont warrant it.i've lost count of how many times i've been to the doctors and come away no different and without any real answers. If its only happening in your sleep it could well be sleep apnea, get checked out for it.
Hi lee
You probably won’t know why you had that first panic maybe you have had some stress building up and didn't realize but that is irrelevant now, it’s something that scared you and you can't work it out so you are thinking about it, it’s the same as if you had been attacked unexpectedly you would over think it and replay it probably, but then you have to put it to rest and try and get on. I know I’m making light of the situation but if you can see it as something that didn't hurt you and brush it aside that would help. Focus on the things that keep you busy, things that you enjoy or start a new hobby maybe something that you have been thinking of doing for a while, do it now.

Thanks lou i do keep my self occupied i work 12 hours a day sometimes 14 hours and on my days off i gofor long walks with my dog and play xbox 1 im always doing something but my anxiety attacks starts with my speach i feel like i cant talk all my throat tightens up my jaws feels stiff its strange.
If it's effecting your work and social life then you should consider meds which help relieve panic attacks, with CBT.
Thanks dean my first anxiety attack was when i was asleep but now it happens when im at work and just as i get in bed did you ever get that where u try to speak and all your throat tightens and your jaw goes stiff i feel like if i dont take deep breaths i will stop breathing then i get the feeling as if im not there
Where can i find these meds is it something my doc can prescribe
i nearly always get it now as soon as i wake up,my heart in an instant will beat fast, upwards of 120bpm.Other times can be when i'm speaking to someone especially if its confrontational,my chest goes tight and i struggle to draw breath.and i go drip white....It p*sses me off more than anything else,in that i have no control over it,I never ever had a problem before it first happen 20 years ago,i was told it would pass within 6 months but it hasnt,i'm resigned to the fact that it is here to stay.Doctors try and look for things that arnt there and start dishing antidepressants out and put down in their notes that i have severe anxiety,,,,but anxiety about what is my question because in my head i have no anxiety at all,period...
lee,i have had practically every antidepressant you can think of,venlafaxine, citalopram, prozac, diazepam etc etc, beta blockers,pregabalin,mirtazapine....mirtazapine helps me sleep but has absolutely no effect on the 'anxiety' symptoms....everyone is different but they have all failed on me..i have also spent hundreds on reiki,herbals,hypnotherapy,acupuncture...i may aswell have thrown ten pound notes up in the air..
Hello Lee,
Sorry this happened to you, it definitely sounds like a panic attack to me. It is frightening when this happens.
I have had alot of panic attacks. One thing you can keep in mind if this happens again is that a panic attack can only get to a certain level and then it will wear off, also they say that an actual panic attack hasn't killed anyone.
It is scary though. A good thing to do is try to relax the best you can (I know it's easier said then done). Take deep slow breathes through your nose hold for a few seconds and then exhale slowly out of your mouth. Also you can tea the in and out of a brown paper bag.
I make myself a camomile tea which relaxes you and there is a spray which you spray on your tongue called rescue remedy, you can also get it in pastilles to chew or drops. This is good when you feel panicky.
Hope you feel better soon, take care .
Tina
It's a proper shame you've not found something for your anxiety symptoms, have you looked into whether there is another cause such as thyroid problem?
There are still options such as buspirone, MCBT.

Certain AD's are good for Panic Disorder your GP should know which.
