Bad Insomnia associates with menapause need advice

Been suffering for 4 years from menapause with bad hot flashes and very bad insomnia. I can handle the flashes but the insomnia is very disturbing. I got off Ambian (mg) a few months ago  because I actually think it was making things worse. I’m aiming to reclaim my sleep without meds. So, I’m seeing a cognitive therapist , do yoga, accupuncture , etc. Things are improving compared to a year ago but not where I want to be. I sleep soundly only 3 hrs before awakening to go to the bathroom and then the brain is wide awake and can’t easiky go back to sleep. I sometimes do get back to sleep but will wake again an hour later. A good night is 3 wakeups. A bad one is 4 Or 5. Anyone else experiencing the insomnia part of menopause  . How common is it? Will this ever end?

I have been following a low carb, high fat (LCHF) diet for the last 4 months, and my sleep has definitely improved, and I also feel that I have more energy. I think because my blood sugar levels are not fluctuating as much. I have also lost a stone in weight. I am 51 and menopausal. I haven't suffered from hot flushes yet, but my cousin tells me that sage is very good for them if I do. I also practice yoga, and find it really helps me to wind down in the evening after work.

I have had to cut out liquids after 5 because if I get up for the bathroom the same thing happens to me...I cant get back to sleep and the rest of the night is ruined...just dozing on and off. I dont think it will ever end. I have been going through this for 6 years.

Getting up to go is a big problem.  I do it once or twice a night  and usually go back to sleep but its disturbing my sleep.  I take a lot of calcium and magnesium before I go to bed.  I never have trouble falling asleep.  But I hate having to get up and go.  So I will be doing ovarian rejuvenation so this bladder having to go goes away.

I find magnesium helps me get to sleep and stay a sleep. I take it as a supplement and I also take a multivitamin with iron.

Hi lesdeck,I too terrible when you can't sleep,I hope it will end I know something message me depends where you from because these supplements are from USA

Oral progesterone helped me sleep at my worst point. I don’t take it anymore and can again sleep. I still have to get up to go to the bathroom but can always fall asleep again. Don’t turn on lights, don’t check your phone. Maybe that will help?
