Bad reaction to Citralopram

Hi.

About 8 weeks ago I started taking citralopram as well as propanadol and I had a serious reaction to it, a 48 hour long panic attack where I could t breathe, felt suicidal and before all that started I was sleeping constantly.... I stopped taking everything and that was about 4 weeks ago. I have days where I’m pretty much ok but others I still feel like I can’t catch my breath and have to yawn all the time to get a deep breath... and my chest gets soar as a result! I want to go and see if there’s any medication that will help but I’m so scared I’ll react badly again.... I was so traumatised I don’t kno if it’s worth it, I just want to feel normal again?

That ia my fear the reactions .I dont take anything yes I do have aitivan as a back up if I do need somethimg but really I dont take anything and no seem to be getting a bit better everyday I do have my days

Is it propanadol or propranolol?

I saw some studies that taking antidepressant drugs increase suicidal thoughts.

And I also saw some studies that sun and fresh air help with depression.

So elementary suggestion but it has magnificent effect.

May I ask how you know it was the Citalopram and not the propanadol? Could it have been a combined reaction maybe?

I've heard that dr's can run a test now which determines which medication you may be most susceptible to, maybe ask your Dr? Unfortunately the manual way is a longer case of trial and error but working with your Dr should help you find the best course of treatment x

Here in canada cost the patient 500 to get that test done

I had been on propanadol about a year earlier for 8 months and was fine with it....

I started half a dose of citralopram as directed by the doctor and I spent 90% of the day asleep... and my breathing was much worse than before I started the tablets so after advise from the doctor I lowered the propanadol and then after a week of half a dose of citralopram increases that as directed.... and that’s basically when all he’ll broke loose 😂 x

Oh really! Man that's expensive.

I see, yeah that's clearly not a good combination for you. Have you considered taking natural supplements?

No but I’m looking into the best ones now x
