Bad reaction to cortisone injection

I had a cortisone injection into my big toe and have not been able to walk without limping for 3 months. Instead of soothing pain, I've ended up with rapid bone growth, similar to arthritis. Has this happened to anyone else and how did you get better?

Hi Rosa

so sorry to hear this. That doesn't sound right at all. You need to go back to your GP and ask for a full explanation and referral. Take pics with measuring tape regularly to show the growth taking place. Best of luck and keep us posted.

Thanks JazzyM - I've done this now and waiting for a referral to another consultant for a second opinion. Had a meeting recently and have now discovered that the injection has also caused cartilage to degenerate. Now researching what could be in this drug to have caused such damage.

Oh gosh!!!

I am so sorry to hear that Rosa. I really feel for you. I hope they try and sort things out for you quickly. You poor thing. Keep us postedsad
