I just wanted to let you all know that I received a badge this evening for the most posts written today. Must mean it's time to get off my rear and do some things around the house besides read this wonderful forum! Night, Leslie
I hear you.I had almost 200 messages. That takes a while to read through.I belong to another forum that is specifically for joint replacement but I must say this one is just easier to followWe really all do help each other and that is invaluable. So right now this is more of what we need.
Hi Leslie,
congratulations !!!
I believe that there is a lot of healing power in participating here on the forum -
Real stuff is being shared, cathartic to express our emotions and feelings - we can't go anywhere else where we are so supported and understood -
so much is put into perspective and gosh darn it, we are funny too ...
Thanks for being here Leslie
big warm hug
renee
Lol! Me too, my email inbox has never been so busy!
Lol great stuff. I get more info off this site than I would from any surgeon there is always someone who is going through what you are, it's a great site and long may it go on.
Hi Msky, what other forum is there for joint replacement please.
He He. 😀 Gets a bit addictive doesn't it! So much good advice though and just knowing you are not on this journey alone makes such a difference. Keep posting! Obviously I have some catching up to do!

Yes, this forum is wonderful. A wealth of information and then also a nice mix of friendliness so that it doesn't seem too 'medical.' And most of us are house-bound and can't get out and do the things we once did so this really helps with that.
Thanks you, Renee. This forum was so welcoming right from the beginning. Hugs back, Leslie
Totally agree, Suzie. The surgeons have maybe 5 minutes and haven't gone through what we've gone through. This is so valuable.
Yes, quite addicting. I''m normally quite a social person and I was a bit worried about being stuck at home for so long. I've been lucky to have friends and neighbours visit but there is a lot of 'alone' time and this is perfect for that. Plus it is sure easy to overdo things, isn't it? I was feeling so good yesterday and had quite a bit of company and did walks up and down the hall. I felt way over tired by the time I went to bed. Today will be a quieter day. I might win another badge here! LOL
Normally I am a busy bee type of person. I am actually finding it a bit liberating being able to say No! No, I can't drive you to the Party, No, I can't vacuum or hang out the washing and don't even think about cleaning the shower!
i shall watch some more tennis and have a little doze instead!
💤
Sounds excellent, Kris. I can't imagine how much harder this would be if I had others to take care of. And good for you for just saying no! They will survive and be better people for it!
I'm watching the Tsonga/Isner match right now. What a marathon!
Leslie
Ooohh, must turn over and watch that instead. X
Hi Leslie
Yeah form is great. I am 17 years old and got avascular necrosis in both hips, after almost waiting 8 years for a hip replacement as my doctor didn't want me to get it done till I was 30 I am getting done in August. It's great to here other people experience and challenges. A few people has helped me on this and gave me great support and advice for my op.
All the best

It's more addictive than Tramadol .......... I am trying to kick the habit, and failimg.
However, I will be back when I get some news from my new surgeon, which should be in November.
Yes, this forum really is great, isn't it Megan. Are you 17 or was that a type and its 27? I can't imagine waiting 8 years for a replacement. Soooo difficult. Glad you have surgery scheduled for August. Can you get around ok in the time before that? Like with a walking aid?
Big hugs to you,
Leslie
Yeah it is great. Am 17 years old I will be 18 on Thursday. Yeah it's been one difficult journey for me. They have responded it 3 times now which is annoying. Before I got diagnosed with avascular necrosis of both hips I was a healthy child love doing different kind sports. I have been in a wheelchair for about 4/5 years of my life and I've been crutches most of my life. I've been in and out hospitals a lot. I got operations after operations when I was younger.
Hope your well

Definitely a lot to go through, Megan. I just Googled Avascular Necrosis. Had you been injured in some sport and it wasn't detected? Best of luck with the surgery in August. Will this be on one hip and then another later?
Hugs. Leslie
At the end of the end it only makes your a stronger person!. I was a werid case, it was a virus that attacked my hip bones which make me have avascular necrosis. I was In the new paper when I was younger. Yeah but I also have other medical conditions
All the best
