Hi all! New here. I’ve been dx’d for about 2 years with RA. My 1st symptoms were extreme fatigue and foot pain. I now also have it in my knees, hips, and elbows. Feet are the worst. Take plaquenil. Can’t take the new stronger meds for other medical reasons. Lately I’ve had some bad falls. Just can’t right myself when the slightest thing trips me up. I’m not a klutz! Anyone else have this problem? It’s freaking me out. I can’t believe I haven’t broken a wrist or arm yet.
Melanie
Blimey, I hadn’t really thought about it but I can fall over anything or nothing these days. Probably over about last 5 years. I know that because I fell flat on my face when I went to York for some training about 5-6 years ago. I’ve fallen about a dozen times since then but never put it down to anything? I’m 62 now and don’t work any more, well not paid work anyway! Carol
Is the RA affecting your feet too? If it’s something else I give up. Got enough going on! I don’t work anymore either due to medical issues. I swear I’m going to start breaking bones.
At the moment I’m fairly pain free due to prednisolone (for my chest) in addition to Benepali but yes, it affects my feet particularly my ankles. I have psoriatic arthritis. Carol
Among other symptoms I had a feeling that my fingers felt ‘loose’ even before I was diagnosed with RA. Now that I know why they feel that way I don’t carry anything with just my fingers as I feel they could break or bend backwards, they are now starting to curl into a loose fist and hurts to straighten them. The reason I’m telling you this is because it’s started in my toes too. My balance has become precarious because I don’t feel my toes will support me if I begin to fall forward.
