Hi everyone,
I've recently been having issues with anxiety and as of late I've been feeling what seems to be this very light pressure in my throat. I've been to the doctor and was told it was just my anxiety however, they took a blood test just to put my mind to rest as I was concerned it was some form of throat cancer. My doctor then told me once the results were in that my blood cell counts were fine and my thyroid was acting as normal and as such was just anxiety. A week or so later I made the mistake of reading online that a throat cancer issue would not be detected by a blood test, this brought my anxiety right back. So I was just wondering if anyone can tell me if a blood test would have given any indication to my doctor at all and if not, should I go back into my doctor.
I'm sorry if this question gets asked a lot I'm just very uneasy at the moment.
Throat lumps and pressure are very common with anxiety. I understand the need for reassurance but to be honest it won't help. Health anxiety especially ,reassurance really is pointless as we just move on to something else. The key is dealing with the root anxiety and not the symptoms of it. Very hard, but its the only way to go
Is it typical for these feelings to last an extended period of time??. I've been feeling like this for a month or so now.
They will last while the anxiety lasts, I've had mine for a year
That's just horrible I can't understand how frustrating it must be to have to deal with this for that long.
Its been a terrible year, I ruptured a disc in my back and my anxiety went through the rood. All the bad physical symptoms got out of hand. I'm in therapy now so hoping things improve
Well all the best I hope it really helps
When your doc did bloods the tests would have shown abnormalities crp esr and many other
thyroid checked
as said look at cause what set off anxiety and then work from that end
I suffer from anxiety and I done the exact same thing it is just a globas sensation and It is nothing to be worried about I had it for months and I was put on citalopram and It went within a few weeks you can also get a globas sensation from acid reflux but it is probably your anxiety when I had it I felt I had to constantly cough to try and get it out bit mine has now gone
