What type of bandaids is best for hs? I suffer from hs in the groin area where I sweat a lot so finding the right bandaids that will stick is difficult. Any suggestions?
Hello Tamika! My name is Nicole. It's funny you ask that question about bandaids because I've got a little outbreak of my hs in my groin area, yay. It is such a hard place to cover with a bandaid I agree. Most of the time unfortunately I suffer with them if they pop up in that area but sometimes if it's bothering a lot I try to keep it covered so it will heal up quicker and go away. In my opinion, I think that the bandaids that are fabric are super sticky compared to other types. That's what I use. I mean if you think about it we need the strongest bandaids especially there. BandAid is probably the best but I think any brand will do as long as they are fabric. It'll tell you right on the box if they are fabric bandaids. However, if you get a bigger hs bump I don't think it'll help. You obviously know how big they can get. Well good luck and take care of yourself. Hope I was able to help you. Have a wonderful day!
Allevyn gentle border dressing are expensive but amazing. They are silky smooth on the outside so don’t chafe and they are cushioned and feel like magic. I find the 5 x 5 cms cover most lumps but you can get bigger. They are waterproof and stay on for several days. Very often the lump disappears by the time I take the dressing off.
They are worth every penny and make this condition much more bearable.
I have found them on eBay but you can also get them for £18.85 for 10 from Front door pharmacy.
Hi Tamika,
I have found the rubbery/latex type of bandaids to be the best, they do not rip out hair and you can easily remove them in the shower with a little hot water and soap. The fabric bandages tent to rip out hair and leave a sticky residue behind. Because they are rubber/latex they tend to form with your body and also stretch with your skin.
