Barretts esophagus and globus sensation

Hello I have had barretts diagnosed in 2007 and take lansoprazole daily since as well as endoscopies every two years. Two months ago I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and given tablets. I developed a dry cough which became an infection with a lot of plhegm and a very dry throat. This has cleared but now I have a feeling like my throat is tight and I have something stuck there. My gp has referred me to an urgent hospital appointment and I am becoming increasingly concerned and worried. Has anyone suffering from barrets got any advice?

Hi Darren can I ask how old you are?

Hello Sean I am 46

I don’t have Barrett’s but I do have the globus sensation .. I had to up my lansprazole I take 30mg in the morning  and 30mg at night it can be where the acid has come uo and irriatated the esophageus.. mine when it flares up takes 2 or 3 months to calm down again .. it’s an awful worrying feeling, I had my endoscopy to check but thankfully all was ok.. I’m sure you will be too good luck x
