Bartholin Cyst Marsupialization Post-Op

I had a large egg sized bartholin cyst marsupialized 6 days ago.  I wasn't put under, only local anesthetic used.  Overall, it was not too bad of an experience and my pain is dramatically decreased.  My question is...does anyone know how long and often you're supposed to have sitz baths?  My doc said to start salt water sitz bath on post op day 2 but did not specify how often or for how long to continue with them...any advice would be greatly appeciated!

Hello,

How are you? Sizt baths doesnt really work specially if the size of your bartholyn is already large. I had bartholyn cyst before and thank god it burst. How? What I did is since it became really large and I am not confortable with it anymore, I used Apple cider Vinegar and placed it on the area. I left it overnight. I did it twice. (two nights to be exact) So when I woke up in the morning, I felt so much pain but id still able to come to my work, but it really hurts. When I get home, I do sitz bath again and I try to poke my bartholyn cyst and I was really surprise that It burts. I felt really good after it burts and Thank god that its totally gone. Please try to do the same.. I hope it will work for you.

Let me know

I had a consultation with my dr. I will be scheduling the marsupization soon. He said do not use salt just warm baths and to take them until it heals to prevent infection around 3 times a day. How are you feeling now? Are you still in pain? Did the appearance go back to normal yet? Any complications afterwards?

hello,

I am pretty good thank you. The appearance go back to normal. no complications, but I will have my popsmere next week. marsupization will surely go back based on my experience, just take good care of your self

What a relief to hear that! I have had mine drained about 15 times and have had enough. I waited so long trying home remedies that didn't work and I was hoping it would go away. I was also terrified of having the marsupization because of all the horrible stories I have read. Thank you for your response and I wish you all the best!
