My TSH is 24, it has been 20 and also 30 before medication and T4 10. The doctor prescribed me 50mcgs and I immediately had headache and burning gullet. However I persevered for month, knowing my mother had myxoedema and was very ill when I was 15. Then one morning when I took it headache, racing heart and tremor. Up until then I had been better in the way of energy and my mood lifted and better than before I took medication. I rang the doctor when I had the symptoms and he said drop to 25 mcgs until first blood test. So what is going on. I want to persevere as I know my mother felt better after medication. Also the doctor said he would test me in three months but I thought at first it was 6 weeks.
Do u think hypothyroid n anxiety is related?
This is only my opinion but from my experience i was more depressed what you might say a sad feeling all the time and everything became an effort so when I tried to do anything with no energy I became more irritable than anxious. My motivation went and therefore became anxious that I could not do the things as before. I am not where I was but since on thyroid medication, though not sure how much I need at the moment, I am not where I was. Am awaiting first blood test. I do feel that once on the medication we forget how ill we felt before. Perhaps we want to feel perfect too soon. But with Gods grace I am getting there.
Glad that you're happy to proceed slowly and cautiously. Eventually you'll be able to self adjust your thyroxin based on how you're feeling.
Maybe the lowest possible dose of thyroxin but with appropriate supplementation would help you. I just suggested a regime to the other member on line at the mo.
Would you have a look and see if that makes sense to you too?
