Before and after

Hi guys

i had my bunion and hammer toe op on both feet 6 weeks ago.

i thought you might like to see some before and after pictures.

i still have some swelling and the scars are still healing , but I am very happy with the result.

Wow, you have healed well.  Looking great. I'm 3 weeks and tomorrow I see my foot for the first time when dressing is removed.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

Good luck Barbara. Let us know how you get on.

Your feet look great. Congratulations!

Thank you.

Great outcome! I painted my toe nails this week by way of learning to love my new feet and getting to know them!!

Me too. Just to feel normal about my feet.

Hi Star, you must be thrilled, your feet look fab and very cute shoes too!!. No one but bunion sufferers would understand how something as having a normal looking foot can give so much happiness, heheeee!!! Wishing you continued good recovery, keep posting.

Thank you Bee

You are so right , for years I have felt so embarrassed by my crooked feet and bunions that it's unreal for me that I have normal feet now ( or as normal as can be expected). Sometimes I look at them and think are this my feet? I wish everyone the best of luck and quick recovery .

Me too, hated my poor hurting and ugly feet so much I had real problems taking a "before" shot for myself!! I've only got one lovely new foot so far, I'm 11 weeks post op, go for final check and to arrange other foot op next week. Maybe I'll try and take a photo this week to post, showing one done one not!! Good luck to all.

Good luck Bee

It will be great to see the before and after pictures.

Thats great news STAR1456. Are you walking properly on both feet?

Hi Lisa

I walking ok now , I am wearing trainers a size wider as my feet still swell and I can wear lose sandals . I have started driving with no problem.

My normal closed toe shoes are tight

At the moment , so probably another few weeks before I can get my feet on my normal shoes . Of course my feet get tired very quickly and I can manage about an hour of shopping at the moment but no problem moving around in the house and garden .

It was such a relief to have the dressing taken off and the dissolvable stitches tidied.  K wire out next week, then I think he said some wide fitting normal shoes.   I've out some photos on my own before and after discussion.  Did your toe feel strange, I can't move it and the joint is very stiff?

Oh I know, it's like losing a couple of pounds weigh from your feet when the bandages come off.

Yes the toe does feel strange at first. When you have your wire out you will need to start messaging the toe and pushing it up and down to loosen the joint. I didn't have a wire , I had a screw put in my second toe. So started the excercises after the bandages came off but I think you should wait until the wire comes off.

Good luck and speedy recovery .👍🏻

Thanks biggrin

Sorry forgot to say foot looks great .

The scars will fade . After the 4th week start messaging the scar with bio oil , it helps a lot.

Oh I have some of that, hardly used, so will do thanks.  All I have to is find some comfy shoes.

I got some comfy and cheap trainers from J D Williams on line. They do EE and EEE fittings . You might like to have a look on their site.

I think they were £20 and got £5 off as new customer.😀

Is that UK?  Not heard of them before.  I've been looking at sandpiper online.  I went to Skechers today but all their shoes, though good soles etc, are too narrow.  Thinking of getting sandals?
