I have my colonoscopy in a week after abdominal pain upset tummy. Test show high calprtectin, elevated Ferritin and low corrected calcium. After a bad bout of diarrhea I now have the worse stinging, burning sensation on going to toilet which then lasts hours. I'm normally a healthy person so feel a bit awkward going to the doctors after each new problem, already feels like I'm there every other week. If any one could shed some light I'd be grateful.
Hi,
I have crohns so totally understand where your're coming from. My symptoms were exactly the same as yours. I first started off with really bad abdominal pain and then started getting diarrhea with everything I ate. I lost about just over a stone. Have you lost any significant weight? For me I already had oral crohns (orofacial granulomatosis) so when I got these symtoms I knew straight away it had spread to my bowels.
Thank you for replying, its good to know im not alone. People I know have commented on my weight but I've always been small (size 8). I have had reoccurring tummy upsets for years but working as a nursery nurse I put that down to picking up something from the kids. I'm just concerned about this new pain, my back end feels like its packed with pins, can't sit or stand to long before it becomes unbearable.
Hi,
I'm the same with you size 8. Most people close to me noticed the weight loss from my face and I noticed this myself from my trousers slipping off me. I had pain too from my back side but this was mostly just after coming from the toilet having done diarrhoea. And yeah it stings really bad. But yours sounds really painful I would definitely ask our Dr about that.
Went to Dr found her very disinterested, didn't even examine me, she suggested I may have torn myself!!!!!!!!! Gave me Buscopan and Prednisolone and told to wait till colonoscopy. Now I'm worried it will be so sore that they can't do it.
