Hey everyone went to physical therapy today that darn woman bent my darn knee so I wanted to hit her lol. She says I have a 100 bend but I need more. I'm doing the lunges and squats backward leg raises what more can a girl do. I'm 8wks post op and was able to lay on my stomach last night for quite a while and finally on my sides as well. So the sun does indeed exist in the distance
Well done you. I would say your exercises are working if you're up to 100. Just keep it up and the bend will get better.
I'm 8 weeks post op too and my bend is at 85. They're not worried about mine because the extension is at 30. That's the worry. They are confident that the bend will continue to improve but they may need to operate again to straighten (my leg been dodgy for a while before op though).
It's brilliant that you've got too 100 so far. I mean how often do we bend our legs past 90 anyway? Lol x
No pain without gain as they say! You are doing really well...better to grit your teeth now than end up at like me at 16 months with a fixed 90 degree bend and facing revision. Keep the good work up.
Ha ha ... like the way violence always manages to make an appearance at times like these!!! 100 is good. I was told I needed to get to 90 so I think you're doing great!!! 😃
I have to give the physical therapists credit, they know we are hurting from their bending ours legs and exercises, don't think I could do that. I'm 5 weeks, TKR right knee, and my therapist got my knee to a 120 bend but not without pain. Can't sleep on my stomach yet and difficult to lift my right leg while sitting, my quads aren't cooperating, so I'm not driving yet. But yes there is sun in the distance, much luck to everyone!
Cruelty to knees! should be banned Seriously though,it really does hurt . . I'm afraid I actually screamed once . (I was at about three weeks ).because she just wouldn't stop pushing and pushing! Still, now at 13 weeks, and still only 100/105 so perhaps I should have let her go on . . . . .
I find I need more than ninety to be able to go down the sairs. . even with 100, it;s still difficult. that's the only problem really . . .and in bed, it would sometimes be nice to be able to bend it a bit more. .. bt if I don't get there, I'm not going for manipulation or anything like that....
Thanks Kathryn yes I'm walking on the gait trainer with no hands with an up hill climb. I can do my exercises as well without holding on. I just don't walk like myself with cane or without cane. When I see my shadow I seem to be wobbling from side to side. I hope n pray this will go away. I hope that your situation improves with the quickness and you get to feeling better☺️
