Best medication and psychotheapy for severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder?

I have severe G.A.D./Panic disorder and Depression, and have an appointment with my psychiatrist on Tuesday to discuss revised treatment options. I was receiving a combination of Pregabalin (Lyrica) and Duloxetine (Cymbalta)but the Duloxetine had to be discontinued at Xmas due to suspected Serotonin syndrome. I would like to know what medications, if any, work effectively for G.A.D. with Depression, and what type of therapy is best-I’ve had CBT which was of no benefit and mindfulness only works when I’m not anxious, which is fairly rarely. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Here’s my advice, don’t take a benzo class of medication. I take one,in my estimation, they are amazing for anxiety, that being said, doctors are starting to cut patients off from these meds, some are faced with trying to find a new dr. asap or face a cold turkey withdrawal if something happens where their doctor retires leaves etc. My doctor retired,I was prescribed them for years, well since the opioid crisis they are now starting to go after the anxiety meds,I at the moment have found a dr. that so far is willing to do a slow taper off the med. They are now known to have bad withdrawals for some,so I am left with that in my future. Plus I myself don’t know how I will be treating my anxiety. I have seen several drs. All at best were just willing to taper. By the way I am in the U.S. All wanted me to consider starting the antidepressant Lexapro which has a very good rating for anxiety and depression and according to all has few side affects. I am considering it,but at the same time am hesitant to take anything now. You can Google user reviews for any med. This med has a quite high user rating. Good luck, none of this is fun.
