Bicarbonate

Hi all,

So sorry i know this has been covered numerous times but I can't find the details. My cuz is suffering with activie LS (mine is non active at the mo) and I have been trying to help her with different suggestions.  What is the thing with the bicarbonate in a spray bottle? What are the measurements please?

Thank you!!!

Hi Claire,

half a teaspoon in a small hand bag sized spray bottle should be enough.  When I go to the loo, I fill a basin with warm water and put in about 2-3 heaped teaspoon fulls of bicarb.  It really soothes things. I keep a sponge especially for this purpose and now and then make sure it is ultra clean by rinsing and using Listerine on it when I've finished.  This seems to control things quite well and i use Dermovate periodically (unless I'm having a flare - then I use it once or twice a day) and always  some sort of fatty ointment or coconut oil.  The latter is brilliant stuff, but I am wary that a big pot of it could become contaminated, so it is better to keep some very clean small pots of it - perhaps with the spray bottle in the handbag.  Hope this helps, cheerio Meg

1/3 cup bicarbonate of soda in a bath of water and soak for 20 mins, then apply clobetasol (dermovate) if you are using it or moisturise with whatever you use, Epaderm, Hydramol, coconut oil, emu oil, etc. etc.

Thanks Margaret!

Thanks Chrisy!

I put three pinches in a Perin bottle.

How are you and your cousin now may I ask?

Hi Janniey

All good at the mo (dont like to say in case I jinx myself!). Signed off by specialist so that must be good! I have started eating gluten again and so far (over a month) no negative results. I also have just stopped taking the Celedrin to see if that does anything (mainly cos it is expensive and we are skint at the mo!) but will take again if there is a negative response. Not sure about my cuz. Must ask her and see how she is doing!

Thanks for this everyone .. its answered my question as well
