Is safe period calculation avoid birth control. If yes I have a question. Suppose the bleeding starts three days before or after from actually period time. Is it safe??
It's also called the "rhythm method" or "fertility awareness method" (FAM), and doesn't seem to work very well. You're supposed to avoid sex for about 12 days each cycle, which isn't easy for a lot of people, and and about 24 out of 100 couples who use a FAM will be pregnant within a year.
Day 1 of a cycle is actually the first day bleeding starts. Some women are very regular, some aren't. The problem is that the day the bleeding starts tells you more about when you last ovulated, than when you'll ovulate next. You can also get bleeding which isn't related to a period, so it's recommended to monitor body basal temperature and cervical mucus as well, which makes things more complicated.
You can combine it with condoms to make it safer, but that doesn't seem to work too well either. In your position (since you can't use the Pill), I'd use condoms all the time, or an IUD, if that's an option where you are.
Thank you .
