Black and Blue

Had my gallbadder removed 11 days ago and my stomach is still so bruised right from just below my ribs to my pubic area and right across. The bruising stems from my navel. It is very tender all over and I feel like I've done a 1000 sit ups! The laproscopic surgery lasted for 3hrs which was longer than expected but according to the surgeon all went well. I did end up staying in for 2 nights because of urinary retention for which i had to be catheretised. My question is this extensive bruising usual???

Hi I had 2 liver cysts removed and gallbladder as well on the 19th may I was in surgery for 4 1/2 hours and ive only got a little bruise under my belly button still very sore but getting there

I think you will find that its where they have used the tools for surgery ,prodding and probing plus the camera been used inside, im still sore in stomach area, mine was done december 2016, take it easy dont lift any thing heavy, all best,

Hello, I would think that the bruising is very normal as the surgeon is operating he will pull and tug a bit to get where he wants to operate, you may also feel that your skin is very sensitive and you find it hard to touch . But it will all go away in time as it heals. It's just natures way of protecting itself.
