Black Cosh?

Hi ,

so Black cosh has been recommended to me for mood swings..

how long does this take to actually start to work? The best place to buy? Is their a particular brand that is better?

u can private message me if anyone wants...

what else is recommended besides black cosh? Having found out I'm peri my mood swings are terrible so I'm desperate for somthing to help me?!!.

im going to see my GP but carnt get in to see her till next wells!!.

GOD dammit shoul read WEEKS!!!!!!'

Try chia seeds I hear they're also good for you. I take a multivitamin along with vtiamin C and vitamin D3. Black cohosh takes about 3 months for it to start working. Are you high blood pressure medicine? Because if you're not then you can take St. John's wort and that will bring your life back.

i've never heard of this.    I use vitamin D3 and Omega 3 oil supplement, but Vitamin D3 has been brilliant for lifting low mood and so many other things.  We just don't get enough of it and it was the only thing that was low on blood results for me.

Thankyou Sochima.

What have u never heard of?

so D3 and Omega 3.

feedback is good.....

cheers for the info.

Agree with the Vit D3 and Omega 3. I tried Black Cohosh - it made me feel weird, so I stopped. It can get some folks that way.

im on it it takes about a month and you can get it on amazon my love unpleasent until you get used to it

it does work though

Hi Shelly. I took over-the-counter black cohosh with soy isoflavones for a while (21st Century brand, USA), according to the directions ont he bottle. It seemed to me to take the edge off the hot flashes, although not completely eliminate them. Then I tried prescription HRT for a few months but then re-considered. So, I'll probably go back to the black cohosh w/soy isoflavones or maybe try red clover etc. I don't remember the details like how long it took to work, just that it seemed to improve (but not eliminate) my symptoms. So, for what it's worth... Good luck and please let us know how it goes.

Thankyou bobbysgirl.

So r u using this for ur mood swings?

& you reccommend it?

I have been taking B complex&B12 combination+ sellenium. I must say I certainly got some energy back. Less tired than before. At least the cashing fatigue seem to have stopped.

I also take a menapause pill combines black cohosh abd st John's wort. But I am not sure if these really helps my mood. Everybody is different. You need to try and see what works best for you.

i did not hear of it helping with mood swings, just hot flashes, night sweats.  vit d3 is the only thing that helped with my mood swings and I take that along with omega 3's and not much else except watching diet and exercising as much as possible.

i use it for the general peri but I suppose it will be good for the symptons causing the most trouble yes I would reccommend it my love

Rrrrrrr right, it was what someone posted me as to what they take!

i really think after the feedback I've received from you all Vit D3 and omega 3 I'm going to give a go!!

thanks for all the positive feedback ladies.xx

Hi Imagine, St John's wort helps with anxiety and heart palps. That's why I took it, and it worked for those specific symptoms. Fortunately, after taking it for about a month all my symptoms went away.

But, I also recall when I was on Black cohosh my doctor recommended I don't mix it with any other menopausal herbs so it can absorb into my system. Unfortunately, I tried black cohosh for 3 months and didn't work. So maybe don't mix your menopausal pill with St. John's wort.

Dear Sochima, thank you for your advice and information. It is all so confusing what's out there and what keep buying and trying in desperation. I don't know what to think really. Because the suppliment I take has the combination in one pill. And I am assuming it Ok. But who knows
