Bladder irritation when peeing

Hi all, I to have the dreaded stent in. I had 3 rounds of Litro but they said the stones had not broken, then a couple of days later they found out that it had broken into 3 pieces and inserted a stent. I was due to go the South Africa for a wedding but came home 8 days early because of pain and being generally miserable. I have all sorts of pain killers but they don't help with the urge and discomfort of peeing. I'm wondering if they is something that I could drink that might help. I have to put up with this for another 5 weeks and I'm effectively housebound as I need to pee all the time. Any ideas? I'm constantly sitting with a hot water bottle between my legs as its the only thing that helps.

You can buy yourself some Chanca Piedra (aka "stone breaker&quotwink. You mix it with water and drink it. Also lemon juice in water may help.

I have a kidney stone which is being removed by keyhole surgery on Monday. Good riddance to it!!

Someone told me Robinsons Lemon Barley Water is good for stones.

Hope this helps.

Take care and keep in touch.

What pain meds have they given you to cope with the stent? I had Urabel (the most important), flomax and an anti-spasmodic (have used several kinds) along with the hydrocodone that didn't really have any effect on the stent pain. The Urabel has to build up in your system to help, so I took them fairly close together the first day to try to get things working. By day two, I might have little twinges, but nowhere near the discomfort you are describing. As long as I take all these pills as soon as they are due, I'm golden. If you are already taking these...I'm not sure why you are having so much discomfort. Some doctors won't prescribe the pills because insurance companies don't like to cover them. We had to insist it was necessary and get the doctor to write a note explaining they were necessary. I wouldn't have been able to cope without them.
