I'm back! So after months of terrible anxiety I finally got myself together...kind of. My episodes don't last more than a couple of minutes and I am able to talk myself out of thinking that I'm dying. However, I still deal with shortness of breath and a weird pain on the lower left side of my abdomen.
I have had my shortness of breath checked out. Ekg s, echo, lung test, chest x ray and all is fine and considering I am 31 and had no issues until anxiety kicked in I have to believe that it's nothing serious. I did develop terrible acid reflux and that contributes to my shortness of breath.
The pain in the lower abdomen is felt mostly up on waking and if I am squeezing my muscles or when I am sitting. I am afraid it's a big ovarian cyst but my doctor said she couldn't feel anything and the discomfort has been there months and my menstrual cycle has been normal. I thought it was my colon but I have been regular and it doesn't feel like a deep inside pain. I think I tore a muscle really bad because I can feel a rope like bump about an inch or so above my pelvic bone. I have the same muscle on the other side but the one on the left stands out more when laying down and pressing.
Sorry for ranting on but it makes me feel better. Does anyone have constant shortness of breath? Like there's an elephant on your esophagus sometimes?
Hi i had the same exact symptoms just spent two days in the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack after many test and them all coming back normal I was finally diagnosed with acid reflux which feels just like a heart attack even knowing everything is ok I still think something is wrong my anxiety is crazy
Hello! I am back here for similar reasons. I too suffer from shortness of breathe a lot I was prescribed an inhaler and it doesn't really help me...except it does temperorily make me feel "better". I've tried breathing excersises and one thing I noticed is that I usually just breath through my nose, so I'm trying to breath out of both my nose and mouth more to maybe help get more oxygen through me. I do suggest you try breathing techniques. Especially through high-anxiety episodes such as panic attacks/hyperventilation. I wish you the best, and ranting on here makes me feel a lot better myself. We're all here to help and listen! I wish you the best xx
Hi Michelle, quick question: what were you symptoms of acid reflux? Because I've been having "heart attack-like" pains for weeks now and I've already gone to the doctor just for them to tell me it's anxiety related but I honestly can't help ignore the obvious physical symptoms it's having on me. Your response kind of hinted at similar symptoms I've been experiencing. Definitely felt like I was having a heart attack and had to talk myself out of it (because it wasn't) but idk what else it could be. Now I'm wondering if maybe it is acid reflux
I learned the less I think about it the better it is. Do you have any issues with your digestive system? I feel like I’ve developed IBS. I don’t want to keep going to the doctor but of course I am freaking out that it might be colon cancer or something. Ugh!
