I had a colonoscopy 4 months ago and on my report it said internal haemorroids and mild diverticula disease.
I had 2 episodes in 6 months of quite heavy bleeding but on both occasions it stopped after 1 day.
Now I have been bleeding for a week, it's bright red after bowel movement but sometimes a little bit of bleeding later in the day.
I never had this before. Is this normal?
Thank you!
Well you’ve had a colonoscopy so rest assured it’s not anything serious going on
It may be the internal rhoids are swelling or starting to prolapse causing the bleedimg
If it’s very painful it maybe a fissure
Fissures cause bright red blood
Try a salt bath for a few days
Xx
Hems do bleed so it is probably them.
Have you been to your doctor for them to check it out for you ??
If it’s a continual thing then I would ask to see whoever is taking care of you. I had 4 colonoscopy and 2 sigmoids and am just 6 days post op for hemmoroidectomy, Mine bled all the time and it got so bad and constant I had 5 blood transfusions in November so I needed surgery to have all mine removed it has been the worst experience of my life and wish I never had it done but I needed too. So I would speak to your gp or I had a consultant and they decided if this was something that could be treated without surgery and it wasn’t or if I needed the surgery good luck x
Thank you for your replies.
It's now on and off, sometimes it bleeds for 3 days and then it stops for a week. Not as serious as yours sound Chanel. That sounds really awful.
I will talk to my GP soon, i do believe there is nothing really scary going on, but still, blood always makes me a little bit anxious.
