Bleeding five months after late (22 weeks) surgical abortion?..

So I had a surgical abortion at 22 weeks on the same day I got the injection birth control. The abortion was at the start of October and I had to get the next injection December (if this helps). I suffered from really bad depression from November till January, the depression actually caused me to lose my job, friends etc and ended up trying to commit suicide. I’ve always suffered from depression but the abortion triggered it really bad.

Anyway after the abortion I bled for a month then had a month with no bleeding till what I assume was my first period. It was just a normal 6 day period and then no blood again for 2 weeks. Which since then I had been bleeding constantly. I haven’t been to see a doctor yet due to being nervous, thinking it was normal due to my body getting back to normal, not going back for the next injection, stress etc.

I woke up this normal literally covered in blood and blood clots the size of 20p/50p coins. It’s been six hours now and I’m still passing clots and bleeding heavy. It’s kind of like a miscarriage bleed except it’s just mild cramps. My mood has also been quite bad constantly snapping at my boyfriend.

I know I should go doctors, but before I go this week i’d Just like to figure out a couple things it could be to calm my nerves till then. I’ve looked all over online but found nothing.

Extra notes (might help)

-we had sex last night which is where the light bleeding started.

-the past 3 months I’ve had only about a week of not bleeding

-I’m turning 22 next week

-I’ve never had any serious health problems and don’t suffer from anything except mental illness

-the past 2 weeks I’ve been taking a lot of coke (which I’m not proud of every like 6 months i’ll Go through a phase of a week on the drug)

-while I had a episode of depression a few months back I was taking about 20 pain killers a day as a form of self harm which I haven’t taken a single one for a month or two

-I’ve had a surgical abortion at 22 weeks & two years back I had a medical at 13 weeks

-This type of heavy bleeding/blood clots has once happened before when I was 17 I had sex then heavy bled and passed golf ball sized clots for a couple days (I assumed was a miscarriage)

Hopefully someone will reply and not with anything negative because the second abortion I really regretted and still don’t feel over it. It is something I wish I could go back and change & I generally feel my life would be better if I kept my little angel.

I am so sorry for what you  are going through ...  Life on earth nothing is easy ... Abortion is something we have to carry with us forever and feeling regret million times over and wishing we never did that.  The Media, the ideaology, the movements and all that are warped and messed up. .. We conitue to live in deluision ..    There is hope in all of this when I met jesus Christ. He loves us and forgives us. He wants us to walk with Him daily. I learned so much and keep eyes focus on Him daily. The hurtful, any bad experienced they become distance memory and fade with time.  So far it sounded like you have uterus issue.  Find doctor who specialized in that uterus field.  I hear that when aborted is likely cannot have another baby in the future if there is scar damaged done inside the uterus. . Find doctor and find baptist pastor to talk with and go to baptist church for support sweet fellowship you might find people there who have some experiences but living for Jesus Christ.  It is not easy at first but you are not alone.  Just one step at a time.  I hope you will get better soon.

Hello, it sounds like you have been through a very hard time recently. I too suffer with various mental illnesses and can relate to how hard they are to cope with.

Regarding the bleeding, are you still getting the birth control injection? If so i have heard it can cause irregular bleeding and heavier periods. I know a few people who havent had good experiences with it.

I have the implant which is ok now, but was terrible for the first year i had it, i had periods that lasted weeks and now have very painful periods and i think it contributed to me being depressed for quite a while last year.

Definitely speak to your doctor, i know they can give you the contraceptive pill along with other contraception in order to regulate the bleeding.

I hope it gets sorted and hope you feel better!
