I have severe dry eye problems and more recently chronic blepharitis. The eye clinic I attend makes no arrest to address this other than to suggest the usual lid cleansing routine and massage At the moment by GP has put me on hydrocortisone cream for a week but I can't say it is having much affect at present. I saw a reference to Sudocreme on here but not sure if it helped the person. Has anyone tried medical grade manuka hone? Ian in the uk so don't understand some of the references in some of the posts. .grateful for any help.

Record your symptoms. Write what gives you even minimal relief. After 18 months of suffering I got some relief
thanks to this site. The treatment is complex and permanent. There is no cure.

I think all the doctors (in UK at least) have attended the same Bleph Dry Eye Smposium and been indoctrinated with the same "Lid Hygiene" incantation. They offer nothing more. It seems we have all had the same problems with no real hard core advice to any of us, and have found this Forum to be the greatest help out there.
My Eye Specialist and GP alike offered me various mediocre bog standard eye drops, offering no comfort at all. I was told by supposed Specialists that there is nothing out there for me. So, to Google I went and found a wealth of eye drops, lotions and potions available. I have worked my way through almost all of them with differing effects and prices. I have paid highly in an attempt to get some relief and I think the doctors only prescribe the rubbish cheap drops to save on money. I would not have minded if they had at least told me that there is stuff out there, but that I would have to pay, as too expensive for prescription - I would, like many have gladly offered up my purse, credit card even at some points a kidney. Years ago I cound have offered up my body but no such luck now!
Stay strong and read as much on this site as you can. The WetWipeWash has worked for so many and weak solution tee tree mix is also a good one. I am certain you will find a good degree of relief from advice here. I was sceptical as I had suffered for years with chronic conditions, and to my amazement had great results.
This is a terribly illness which unless you have suffered, nobody can appreciate the actual pain and distress involved. Keep us posted here as you go along as it would be good to see how to you. Regards Col
Juila, I had chronic dry and Blepharitis, Manuka Honey has almost cleared it. Look it up on a search engine.
There is no cure for blepharitis, my Doctor had me to do the same thing, except he put me on Doxycycline 100mg for a month one a day and Lotemax eye drop its a steroid to help get the infection down but still you have to keep up eye scrubs and eye mask 10 mi three times a day or it will build back up, good luck to you.
LACTOFERRIN 1000 mg a day
get an iron panel at the doctor (blood work)

May consider punctal plugs if you have severe dry eye. Will not help with blepharitis but if you are using many lubricating drops to try to ease dry eye symptoms it may be worth considering. Quick and painless to have them inserted.
