Bloated 24/7, In and out the toilet several times a day, some stomach pain.

Hello all!

I have recently been diagnosed with IBS so im trying to change my diet, So life is a little better for my stomach.

The doctor asked me to start a food diary, Im well under way with this but im struggling to find good healthy meals that i like.

Ive basically cut out all wheat/diary for a few days but my bloating isnt going anywhere! Niether is the toilet, I could be going 6 or more times a day espically after eating.

I live in a small village so its extremly hard to source food that has low fodmap, gluten, dairy free etc.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

thank you smile

Have you tried cutting out cabbage, broccoli and brussels sprouts and avoiding fizzy drinks to see if gas is causing the bloating?  Perhaps see a dietician. Maybe try googling food options.

Finding low FODMAP food is easy once you get your head round it! All meat and fish, eggs, rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, rice cakes, oatcakes, Oats, rice cereal, cornflakes, soya/rice/lactose free dairy products, gluten free pasta and bread, carrots, peas, sweetcorn, tomatoes, cumcumbes, peppers, courgette, aubergine, carrots, oranges, bananas, some berries ( but be careful of pips and seeds) grapes, pineapples. There is lots to eat!

Thanks for the reply!

I dont eat any of those veg, I havent had any fizzy juice since monday, I feel more bloated than ever!

I looked for a dietician in my area but i live in the middle of nowhere

thank you for the reply!

I had a google and some people say red meat / tomatos can effect IBS?

That's is individual. Just because something is low FODMAP doesn't mean it's IBS safe. That's why you need a food diary. Try doing the full FODMAP elimination diet. It's hard work for the first few weeks then you get used to it. Once you start the reintroduction stage you soon learn what makes things worse!. In the mean time use Imodium for the diarrhoea. Have you tried peppermint tea for the bloating?

Try asking your doctor to find you a dietician.
