Hi girls, over the past year I've been keeping a diary of my periods, they've been appearing anywhere from forthrightly to 6 weekly and vary in length etc
I'm now 6 weeks after my last one and have been feeling as if one was going to start for over a week. My boobs are really sore and my tummy is solid and really bloated. It feels like I've got a balloon in my tummy full of water. It's making me feel exhausted and my weight is soaring by the day.
I've put a stone on over this past year and feel really miserable.
My anxieties have continued and I am very lethargic
Has any one else had this?
Xx
No period for me now going on 5 mos. Counting down. Hoping to nske it to 7 mos.
I felt bloaty and fatter in the belly this week too. Insatiable appetite too. Lots of Indigestion and either gone #2 too much or constipated. Two days of headaches. Lots of night swests and sleepness nights, and some dizziness this week too. Usually, similar symptoms as when I'm pmsing., but no period. So weird all these crazy sympyoms.
I have no answers or quick remedies to fix any of this stuff. Just taking my vitamins, exercising, snd trying to get to bed earlier.
Just hoping after I get to real menopause, symptoms will start easing up a bit. Hope yours do too Cami.

Hi Camikitten,
Yes, I went through the same thing. My weight shot up and I went from a size 10 to a 14 in a short space of time purely because of the bloating and fat that settled on my waist, hips and thighs. I was ashamed to let anyone see me side-on because of the bulges. It's a vicious circle because the extra weight makes you feel lethargic and miserable which in turn adds to the anxiety. The only consolation I can offer, as a "menopause survivor", is that these things really don't last forever. It's almost a year since I had any menopausal symptoms and my weight and energy levels have gone back to normal.
The menopause can make you feel you very isolated and vulnerable, even if you have a supportive family and friends, I think there is very little professional support for women in this field - but you will get some answers and advice from fellow sufferers on the forum.
xx
Wow thank you so much. Obe been suffering perimenopause for eight years. Its been a living nightmare literally.
It helps so much you saying it gets better. So far im three months without a period. Praying for it all to be over.
Thanks agaiin. So pleased for you x
hi dunnit. Was wondering if you would start a new discussion called 'Menopause Survivor' or something and tell your story, was what you took and how long you had been in peri and then when your menopausal symptoms stopped etc., and how long after your cycle finished etc., it would be great if you could, it would be so positive for other ladies on here and it might start a discussion with other menopause survivors and encourage them to battle on. very much appreciated if you could x
Wow yes what a fantastic idea. That would be so great x
yes it would be great. her messages are so encouraging. come on ladies let's get the discussion going!
Hello there I'm the same had period last year April and thought that was it but then I had one Jan for full 14 days and now I have to count dwn all over again I also suffer with hot flushes which they stopped aswell but now they have back again just wish it was sell over with aching g joint more do elbow and me hip on left side so fed up.
I'm 4 mos. without a period almost 5 mos. Praying I make through another 7 mos. Hope we are both coming towards the light of a very long tunnel .
That's me exactly. I've gone from a 10 to a 12-14 rapidly.. When will it stop 😱
Yes the weight is on my waist, bum and thighs too. I feel my thighs are almost like a polo neck jumper over my knees!! Might be a slight exaggeration but you get the picture 😉
It's awful I feel as if I'm losing my identity and becoming dull, frumpy, permanently shattered, constantly hungry and unmotivated... It's awful. I've had to stop googling my symptoms as when I do that I've got every condition/illness known to man!!
I'm so looking forward to becoming a menopausal survivor.. I just hope I've not scared off all my friends and family by then 😕 Xx
I know what that like I'm forever on Google and I've made me self bad worry sick all the time the only thing I don't av now since I had that period in Jan this year first one since April of 2015 I'm not as bloated now and I'm Nor eating as much either so whether that period is my last one for ever I hope il start to feel better.
Me too its draining me so much trying to deal with the endless symptoms x
Hi. Mine have been getting shorter and length varying too.
yes last night once again I ballooned up with a hard tummy and my boobs ached all night long, for name this usually happens later in my cycle so I figure it's going to be short again this cycle.
do you have pain when your tummy bloats?
I don't av pain but just before me monthly this time I was very bloated x
No I don't have pain, just get really bloated and I go from being constipated to being stuck in the loo.
Lindy, hi, I was on google all the time, I have since stopped and here is why, it really makes your anxiety, fear, and dread worse. I would just talk to your doctor and come to this forum, seriously, I could not sleep for worrying about the things I was reading on google.
Thanks Lennie i av stopped I had to for my own sanity I was going round the bend with worry It got that bad I was waking up in the middle of the night with anixiety and looking in the mirror to see if I had lost loads of weight It even got to the point i started to use a tape measure to see if I had any inches it was horrendous now I have to say to my self it all due to the change of life
I wish I could lose weight, OMG, its really, really hard for me to lose. I can eat literally a 1000 KCAL a day and nothing, its very frustrating. As far as googling, yes, when you google it seems like the very worse of the worse is what you find. All that does is make you go mad, I decided to just discuss my issues with the doctor or come here there are a number of symptoms that I had that I learned thousands of women were going through, the best example is the chest tightness, chest swelling and upper chest bulge from tendonitis, and of course the sore breasts. If you google this, it will show you something horrible, but when you hear from thousands of women who talk about the chest filling with air feeling or the bloating you realize ok, yes, I am in peri this explains it. Not saying we should not consult the dr. But, its much better than consulting google.
I am so happy to hear someone else ask about the belly bloat, honestly when I noticed it, I really freaked out, I am bloated in more than my belly. It is very miserable. I wish I knew what could be done to erradicate this.
It's awful isn't it Lennie! I feel like I've been zipped into one of those comedy fat suits and pumped with air some days.
