Ive recently had a cold and my ears are quite clogged up. This never usually happens and I dont get sick often.
Im worried because even as the cold symptoms pass both my ears are still quite blocked. They were quite bad in the beginning (painful and super blocked) but some antihistamines and generic cold meds took the pain and intensity away. There was no pain over the next few days and it has improved a little since then. I took a short course of antibiotics and sudafed for a day or two (and stopped the other medication). Not much difference.
They arent *extremely* blocked - I can still hear alright but its just irrititating. I find myself avoiding social situations because Im not 100% sure how loud im talking. When i swallow there are popping sounds which didnt happen before. And I can pop them when i hold my nose and exhale gently but this doesnt really make a difference.
Ive read so many horror stories about edt and it seems to last for months/years for some people....I really cant imagine going through that. Its terrible.
I usually get over a cold in a few days and have never experienced anything like this with my ears before. Its been a week and a bit. Steam makes it a tiny, tiny bit better, and its usually most blocked when i wake up.
Id just like to know of this sounds like edt at all or just a cold symptom. I may be overreacting but its just so frustrating. What are some subtle signs of improvement i should look out for?
Thanks
