Hello, I have had piles for 5+ years now, internal mainly and a few lumpy ones externally. Passing a stool until last Friday would be quite painful with a burning / stinging after a bowel movement each morning and a tiny bit of blood on the toilet paper. I also had itching constantly. Last Friday things changed - I went or a bowel movement and there was quite a bit of bright red blood on the outside of the stool and also on the toilet paper. This seems to have continued since then for another 4 days so far with bright red blood in my stools. Since last Friday I have, however, had no pain in passing a stool or any itching. I can just feel some sort of very mild burning sensation from inside my bum. The question is - Does anyone think this is an internal pile that has just burst and refuses to heal or something else ? Thanks in advance for any replies.
Hello I’ve had piles for many years but they only started bleeding a year ago. I have the same as you bright red blood when I go to the toilet .I try to drink lots of water it seems to help. regards April
Before surgery, I dealt with hemorrhoids for many years. I commonly had bright red bleeding into the toilet. I didn’t mind it as it meant the hemorrhoids weren’t hurting at the time.
Yes , each time a bm is passed it can irritate the lining of the hemorrhoids. When this happens, you get bleeding. I actually had 2 banding done on the 12th of last month, about 5-6 days later the bands fell off. Increased bleeding. After which the wounds start to heal. Unfortunately this area(s) are very sensitive, and the slightest straining or Harder than normal bm will re open the area and cause slight bleeding. So im around 23 days and if i strain or pass a harder than normal bm,ill get some slight bleeding. Meaning streaks on the stool or some on the wipe, and thats it. Hang in there!
