so ive had some blood tests done yday - one of them being a fasting blood test. ive had a call today from the surgery saying i need to make an appointment with the nurse (not the dr) as a marker has cone back on the diabetic test - what does this mean. will i have diabetes. im so scared i suffer with anxiety anyway and now i cant get an app to wed im going to drive myself mad. any advice would be great
hey suzanne just for some piece of mind given that youre just now finding this out means its not type 1 so it is something you can overcome most likely with exercise, diet change, weight loss, things of that nature and is something that is relatively easy to treat/control assuming you do your part. I understand your worry trust me but you will be ok i promise you.

they might want to do another blood test to check it further. i know its scary waiting for apps and results. ive been through the same thing with liver function tests .
may i ask what the reason was for you having the fasting blood test?
thanks darren. ive been getting dizzy spells and headaches so they did a variety of blood tests and that was just one of them. when the receptionist called she said all the others were fine but dr wanted me to book in with the nurse as there was a a marker on the diabetic one. i didnt even know they were testing for that, i feel a little assured that ive just been asked to book in with the nurse and the dr doesnt want me back in but no idea what they have found
it was probably just your glucose being off a little bit and they want to look into a little more thats all.
im quite sure its probably just for another blood test. your glucose levels might be showing an abnormality which is easily dealt with. if it was anything bad they would of had you straight back in. if you are diabetic dont panic as its treatable.
Just call and speak to the doctor. That’s what I do.
