Blood Test Freaking Out

So a while back I got a blood test and everything was normal except my alt was slightly elevated. If I had something like colon cancer that was advanced enough to effect liver, wouldn't it cause other things to be off too like other liver enzymes, hemoglobin, hemocrit, or blood cell counts. I am 19 and I know colon cancer is relatively rare in my age but I keep reading that colon cancer is getting younger and I also read a story wear a guy had elevated liver enzymes and he had stage 4 colon cancer but no bloody stools. Please help I have had really bad anxiety for a long time

colon cancer is my health anxiety that scares me to and like you my bloods also showed elevation in liver. my alt, ast, gamma gt were all elevated. they sent me for a liver screening and it was fine exept for a bit of fat around my liver. i feared colon cancer and pestered the doctor to get me a colonoscopy. i was 30 at the time. after 8 months of waiting i had the procedure and nothing sinister was found. fast forward almost 4 years and i still have raised levels in my liver. cant be that bad as im still here. im begining to think it is my diet and the amount i used to drink. i quit drinking alcohol 4 years ago and my gamma gt has normalised.

has your doctor mentioned about sending you for an ultrasound of your liver?

You would have had many other tests if they thought you had a Colon Cancer. However they would have prefred not to do some of the invasive tests at such a young age. They would have looked for the passing of blood and any growths in the colon. There are many other problems you could have up there and on most occasions they can do many procedures at time of test.

If you are still worried talk to your GP, although I personally feel you are to young for something like you describe.

I have these tests sometimes every six months and they have to Sedate me to do their work. A teen going for that  test must be crazy, you are looking for problems that require tests that are not required, If you are checking GOOGLE Stop it. Get on with your Life
