I am freaking out. A blood test today has shown a slight positive reading when being tested for clots. I am only 26 and have severe healthy anxiety so am very scared now. I have to have blood thinning medication all weekend as a precaustion before a scan on Monday. Should I be worried????
Not overly. Loads of people have this and just have regular blood tests and medication.
It's more difficult for you, Fiona, because of your anxiety, so please don't obsessively google everything.
Don't freak out. I've had the test come back positive twice. Once I got a cat scan right away and was fine and the other I also needed blood thinners for the weekend and then that scan showed nothing as well. The dr told me that when the test comes back positive 90 percent of people do NOT have a clot.
