Blurry vision

Does anybody ever think there going blind or have some sort of tumour? My right eye goes blurry sometimes?

Yep. Happens to me all the time. I'm not a doc but I know eyes have muscles in them so as anxiety/ tension affects muscles then stands to reason they can be affected too. E.

I suffer with panic attacks and my vision can go blurred from time to time and itchy aswell

There are many things that can cause this problem other than losing your sight or a tumour, high blood pressure for one and anxiety for another.

If you go to your doctor for a check-up and he thinks it necessary, you may get an appointment at the Department of Opthalmology at your local hospital.

It's better to be safe than sorry.

I think some on here......me included... assume that anxiety has been diagnosed. Thanks for pointing that out.

Elizabeth as it wasn't mentioned by Kirsty you cannot just assume that anxiety has been diagnosed .

If you read what she said, she was asking whether anyone thought that they were going blind or maybe had a tumour because their right eye was becoming blurred.

When we are told about a particular diagnosis then it becomes fact, and until that time it is purely supposition.

Woooooow. Please don't patronise me! I was giving YOU the benefit of the doubt in not knowing mostly what this sites about! Most people are looking for reassurance that others have or are having the same as them possibly for different reasons. It's not a medical site so it's personal experience that's been given .

I was not in any way indulging you Elizabeth - I am stating facts.

What I am saying is that care needs to be taken to not convincing patients that they actually suffer with this or that which has not yet been professionally diagnosed.

When a patient has a diagnosis there is great benefit in people with the same condition comparing notes and that is where this Forum is extremely useful.

As Kirsty has made no mention of a diagnosis then the best thing that can be said to her is that she should visit her doctor, which is what I said but you didn't because you made an assumption.

If Kisty was to come back onto the forum and state that she had been diagnosed with depression or anxiety and you had the same diagnosis, or professional knowledge of that condition, then fire away.

You refer to patients. Are you a doctor? She asked a question.....please refer back to it. I gave a reply which happens to be fact! I have the condition she asked about  and my reply reflected my point of view and the opinion of an optician. I DID say I was not a doctor.

The point is you don't know what her condition is because she has only asked a question, and in that question she referred to losing her sight and a tumour.

Anyway I am not going to argue semantics with you all night.

I have made my point which is to please be careful what you say to people, as it can have a profound effect on them paticularly if they are vunerable.

'vulnerable'

I accept your point of view. Please do me the courtesy of accepting mine in as far as this is NOT a medical site and I did NOT give a diagnosis.  I'm sure most people using it know this.  Have a good night.

And you.........
