blurry vision

Hello everyone, today when i woke up my right eye was blurry. It took about an hour for it to return to normal. Of course i had to google my symptoms and read something about a mini stroke. Right now my anxiety is super high and i am so scared i had a mini stroke. Yesterday i had a headache but it was tolerable. I am just so scared. I did sleep on my arm last night because i had the marks and everything. I am just so scared because it never happend to me before. Helpp, has anyone experience this?

It could be that when you slept on your arm you also squashed your eye just a little, which can cause the blurred vision. I do it quite frequently and it causes no lasting damage.

Since your only symptoms has disappeared completele quite quickly, I wouldn't worry about a mini-stroke. And, particularly if you have anxiety, NEVER GOOGLE YOUR SYMPTOMS. If you googled symptoms of a common cold it would throw up something life threatening. You aren't helping  yourself if you do that.

I honestly wouldn't panic right now hun, especially since everything else is fine and particularly because your eyesight has returned to normal. Have a word with your GP if it starts happening regularly or you get any other persistant symptoms but other than that I am sure you are fine.

And, as I always say, stay WELL away from Dr. Google.

Thank you sooo much! Made me feel a lot better! Yes that was my only symptom and glad that it went away because i had a panic attack... but overall it was definately that i squished my eye. Pretty scary buy glad that was over... thank you for the reassurance

I know how awful anxiety can be so don't worry about it, I am just glad I was able to reassure you. You know one of the first things you are taught in medical school? If you hear hooves... think horses, not Zebras. Thinking worst case scenario is like thinking Zebras. Which, admitedly, is what we do if we have anxiety...but it almost always horses. xxx

You didn't have a mini stroke! I did an in de

You didn't have a mini stroke! I did an in depth course on stroke rehabilitation last year and can promise you that Google has thrown up some random info which you don't have the expertise to interpret. I don't mean that in a nasty way, I mean that 99.9% of what you read on Google is poorly explained.

A TIA (mini stroke) would only cause blurred vision if a blood vessel in your eye had popped due to pressure behind it. If this was the case, the blurring wouldn't have gone away. If you don't suffer high blood pressure, you can cross this little phenomena off your list of worries! 😊

The most common cause of blurred vision on waking is dry eye. This happens if you slept lightly and your eye opened slightly as you slept. It rights itself as your eye remoistens through blinking!

Hope this helps xx

You were uite right to google your symptoms as although they might scare you, an intelligent mind realizes that everything has to be written down to cover all possibilities. You don't say how old you as this might be the start of cataract probles which are dead easy to resolve. The fact your sight returned rapidly means there is nothing seriously wrong. These days you can just pop into an optician and ask them to take a look as they are very qualified these days and this can put your mind at rest immediately until you can make an appointment with an opthalmologist. So NOT panic and I have no idea why you would even think of it being a stroke as it i NOT a symptom of that at all.  I can tell you that almost every morning I need OPTREX drops to clear my vision and would not be without them. Get a bottle of that and you will see a different immediately. But don't forget to make an appointment with the opthalmo just to put your mind at rest.  Stop worrying about it as that does you no good. It is good to have informed yourself via google of what it COULD be and of course read what it has nothing to do with at all - viz a stroke!  Best wishes and laugh a lot. It is the best medicine.

Ugh people are so ridiculous i tell you... i went to the doctor yesterday and got a cat scan and everything turned out to be ok Which puts my mind at ease. If i would not have been to the doctor i would probably be panicking right now. He is so messed up for saying things like this when he knows for a fact that people like myself have serious anxiety.

Thanks for helping me out, i really appreciate it

You're welcome hun! 😊 My own GP told me a while ago that Google feeds anxiety because anxiety sufferers will always home in on the worst case scenario, no matter how many simple and benign explanations we find! This is so true! Where possible, if you get a symptom, sit with it and see if it goes away. If it does, you're ok! 😊 xxx

Ah sorry! I will learn the rules around here I promise!!! xxx I don't mean to be making trouble out of myself

Don't mind them hun at least the scan was clear which is fantastic news. And you can stop panicking now. :D I am very pleased for you. xx
