Does anyone else have problem regulating their body temperature, i either sweat buckets with hardly any exerting or am freezing cold even with several layers of clothes, blankets and hot water bottles, i often wake up in the night juddering from being cold.. is this another weird and not so wonderful fibro symptom?...
Hi Gill
Yep I have that problem. I'm always hot at the minute. I sit at my desk at work in vest tops whilst everyone else has jumpers on lol They think I'm mad but I can't help it. Im more hot than I feel cold so I am thinking of seeing if that's to do with my hormones as you never know. I have read people with fibro have trouble regulating their body temperature though x
Hi gill I get this all the time as well it is horrible I can b sweating one min then freezing the next so I guess it is just another symptom we have to put up with due to our horrible condition x
Gentle hugs x😞
Hi alison, do you get hot flushes?. i had them all last year and i had my hormones tested but were all normal.. thankfully the hot flushes have gone now, the excessive sweating isnt fun though.. i think i'd rather be cold.. it's worth getting your hormones checked though just to be sure.
xxxx
Hi debbie, yeah it would seem so.. urgh!!! as if we don't have enough to deal with.
Gentle hugs back. xxx
Hi Gill
I've had this now for a few months where I'm so hot. My mum laughs as we can be walking round the shops and I start stripping off. I never used to be like that which is why I'm thinking it's worth getting my hormones checked too. When I get so hot it feels like my arm pits are swollen and I get the awful stabbing pains with it. I only feel like my arm pits are swollen when I'm really hot and after a few days the swelling goes and I'm just constantly hot. There are so many different symptoms with this fibro. It's horrible but I will never let it beat me x
Alison, i'm so glad you just said about your arm pits... mine have been swollen for a few months now sometimes a bit painful too. you are so right about all the different symptoms.
it's so good to be able to compare with other sufferers who understand instantly what you are talking about.. i hope your hormones levels are ok and it is just the fibro cos we don't need any more problems on top of it.. good luck.

yes I'm the same apart from.I have hot flushes in the nite
Hi Gill
Yes....it does play a part in our fibro life. I mostly had issues with heat.....constantly feeling hot as if I was on fire. My kids used to say mum can we borrow your hands for central heating. I hardly felt cold in the winter. Although I am not going through the menopause, one of my sister-inlaws recommended that I use Lady Care Magnet, which can help temperature control through menopause. So I have given this a try since July 2015. It can take a month to notice any changes, but I feel much better and my temperature now is under control for now. The Lady Care Magnet has worked for me and I am happy that I not constantly hot all the time.
Take care xx
Hi sarapainfree. it definitly sucks either way.. xx
Hi bee70, That sounds very interesting. i will look into that lady care magnet.
Thank you.
xxxx
Hi Gill
No worries.....you will find it at Boots for around £28.
Good Luck x
excellent, thank you. xxx
I was told today by Physiotherapist that the Hypothalamus (think that's it) is responsible for short term memory (FibroFog) AND temperature regulation!
So that figures why I am HOT then Cold along with my ..... ... .... short .... .. ...... term ... ...... . erm ... . .... memory!
Hmmm yeah that's what I thought!
There's nowt stranger than folk! .
Well that will explain it then, we all need new brains.. xxx
Yes gill50535 it is unfortunatly my love, i get that way too
well, at least i'm not alone.. i know it's not just me.
Thank you.
