Bone pain/bone cancer worry...

Hi, i wonder if any one has had these symptoms who can shed some light for me.. I have had an on/off painin my right calf for 3weeks now. The pain is so deep tho it feels like a growing pain even tho im nearly 30! It comes and goes, but mainly appears when im sat down, rarely when im walking or standing. I now have a similar pain in my right forearm, it feels quite stiff at times but the discomfort doesnt impact on things like carrying bags or preparing dinner. Its literally like childhood growing pains. I started the gym a week ago and thought maybe i had strained my arm but its mainly when im relaxing that the pains arrive, not during exervise. Now im frightened tho as i cant find anything to advise me except the worst.. Docs seem relaxed as they 'cant say what it is'. Iv been back twice now. Anyone who could advise me i would be so grateful to hear from you.

Have you had any blood tests ??? Talk to your GP about a blood test (a complete blood count) with (white blood cell) differential as this should reveal any sinister anomalies smile

Thank you. I have an xray on my leg booked for tomorrow. I dont know if this will help or highlight anything as im sure i havent broken anything... we'll see..

Good luck with your x ray. It will probably turn out to be muscle pain. Believe me muscle pain can be very painful and tends to start hours after exercising when you've sat down and put your feet up.So it is not unusual to get pain as you have. Also the joints get very stiff after exercise especially if you haven't warmed up first.

Any regular gym trainer will tell you that when you start exercising the body takes a while to get used to the extra strain on your joints and muscles.

As House has said a full blood count will show up any inflammatory marker or anaemia.

Try not to worry the chances of it being something sinister is very unlikely. Go easy on the exercise, do more gentle stretches for a while or go to the swimming pool.

Take care, Fanny Jane.
