I had a bone scan recently, and it revealed areas where I have imflation and crystals which account for my pain. and have started on Hydroychloroquine has anyone else experienced similar situations, before Bone scan it was thought that I had Polymyalgia Rhuematica

This seems to be an odd result from a Dexa scan, it's usually used to check bone density. Anyway hydroxy, as noninoni said, is one of the starting DMARDS where inflammatory arthritis is suspected. Do they work? Yes for some, but not for everyone. There are 5 or 6 commonly used and it is a question of trial and error - if the first one doesn't work then the next on the list will be tried. Are you still on Pred?
Nefret: This would have been a different sort of bone scan from the one we usually think of (dexascan) and using radioactive dye - there is greater uptake in areas with inflammation so you see all sorts of things with it depending on what substance is being used. It isn't anything to do with bone density.
