Bonkers

I am 51 and have recently visited my doctor/gynecologist I am going through menapause and he prescribed Zoloft. I have alot if anxiety my mind seems to go a billion miles per hour over things. I worry and stress have brainfog hot flashes like crazy irritable short fuse..need u say more? Lol my concern is I have read alot of reviews about AD's and how they affect you. My question is can anyone give me feedback on if this helps especially concerning menapause.

Well, I had been on Zoloft for years before I went through menopause. I breezed through it.  I had usual menopausal symptoms, minor.

Hi hun I'm on day 9 off sertraline increase from 100 to 150mgs it's the 1st morning have woke up with slight less anxiety but as I like u been a rocky 6wks as been but on hrt for menopause soon with increased hormones as well I'm all over the place but 1st time in over 6wks not dreading work to much I'm hoping that's the sign things r on the up pls won't my life bk still got a 12yr old daughter at home so want to start doing things with her again xx

I'm (hopefully) over the menopause now had all the usual symptoms. I didn't take any drugs but started using a lot of soya products that helped enormously with the loss of oestrogen.

If you can avoid antidepressants and HRT please do - they bring their own problems especially on withdrawal. You can take alternatives like 5htp and St. John's wart. Lots of massages and chill out sessions to slow your mind. Afraid there's no easy fix for menopause but it doesn't last forever. Good books out their too with natural remedies, good luck
